It was outside my house kind of on this corner. A woman and her child, both crawled out safely and the police and ambulance and fire rescue arrived super quickly! I couldn't believe how lucky they were to get out with nothing more than a bloody lip and swollen wrist. Poor single mom was worried about her job and everything. She was new to Canada me thinks. =[

I can't believe how many racist people there are in the world. I work at a location where I interact with members of the community on a daily basis. A lot of them I have become fairly good friends with. However, I was shocked today to learn that a good portion of them were racist, and they went beyond just saying racial slurs like 'paki', which they ignorantly called a group of Sri Lanken's. They made comments about smell, their food, the way they acted. One old woman even said she got bad/negative vibes from them and wanted to know if others did too. One woman said she was moving out of the big city because of them. I couldn't believe how people were reacting, I thought racism was dead and people were mostly accepting of everyone, but I guess not. It's a shame too because these stupid people are spreading their message of hate not only to eachother but also their children.
I don't know what Civic Holiday is but I'm not excited for it. I have to work and I don't get paid extra.
I love my new cell phone and I have been using it non-stop since I bought it.
I just farted.
The news it boring me and almost putting me to sleep.
Funny People is not a funny movie.

Why People Say I'm Awkward...

Well I guess you could say it is true. I am quite and awkward person in most situations but aren't we all? We just express our uncomfortable feelings differently. I am a person who wears his emotions on his sleeve and if I'm uncomfortable you will damn well know. Here are some ways to judge how I feel. Make sure you remember these or write them down, and don't just do that, study them thoroughly so when we meet, you can make the uncomfortable, comfortable. The conversation will flow easily and it will have some sense of normalcy.

Scratching my neck - A quick gesture after an exchange of money for goods or services, expressing my nervousness about money and the possibility of having to use my terrible math skills. I also fear someone could steal the money from me, quick change me, or the goods and services may be inadequet. I'm a cheap person also, thought I would just add that in there.

Scratching my stomach/chest area - When having a conversation with a stranger or acquaintance, and I'm not sure how the conversation is being received, I will stratch my stomach or chest in an effort to pretend I'm casual and comfortable in front of the stranger, enough that I would pleasure myself in a good scratch. However, I'm not comfortable, in fact i'm the exact opposite, and I'm so uncomfortable that I am using some bad acting skills to distract the other member of the conversation from my sweating and shaky voice.

Hands in the pocket - This is rare, but when I do catch myself scratching, or about to scratch one of my danger zones (neck, chest and stomach) I put my hands in my pockets and sway.

Overuse of two phrases - 'Oh ya!?' and 'Really?' when I really don't need to use them, and sometimes they don't even fit in a conversation. The truth of the matter is, I just really don't know what to say to what the other member of the conversation just said.

Awkward Laugh - exactly what it sounds like. You kind of have to hear it and you will just know when you do.

The innappropriate story/word - I'm trying to be casual and funny here. I probably don't think it is really time for a dirty word or story but to make you think we are tight, good and comfortable I'll slip in the dirty word and story to flex my 'comfortability muscle' in front of you. I have courage and I don't give a damn what others think. "BAGINA!" ha.. there, I showed him/her.

Misuse of common phrases - 'Ya well I just did it for shits' ... 'wait what? You mean shits and giggles' ... 'Well ya, but I kind of shortened the phrase' ... 'Ya June, that's not gunna work out'

For now, that's all the advice I can give you. Live long and prosper bitches.

So I though for Tuesday I would post an up and coming artist that I'm interested in and would like to kind of recommend to you. A lot of the musicians are going to be Canadian because I think Canadian artists are great but under appreciated on the world wide stage. Take a listen if you are interested. Today, I present to you...

LIGHTS

Lights is a Canadian singer/songwriter from Timmins, Ontario. She moved to Toronto when she was 18 to help her musical career. The genre is sometimes classified as electro pop punk, with the use of many synths, the drums and LIGHTS is well known for using a keytar at her preformances. I had the wonderful opportunity to be on stage with her when she played Warped Tour in Toronto this July. I had backstage passes and she was amazing live. If you are interested in hearing some of her music head on over to her myspace. I highly reccomend you download her EP off iTunes, and her album comes out at the end of September. My favourite song of hers is called 'Ice'. Lights is also know for her fascination with comic books and more specifically, Wonder Woman and generally any female hero. She even has a tatoo of Wonder Woman on her back. She is most known for her songs 'Drive My Soul' which used to be played before movies in Cineplex theatres across Canada, and her song 'Febuary Air' which Old Navy used in one of it's commercials a few years ago.

My top 5 strangest, yet true, stories of death.

2006: Erika Tomanu, A seven-year-old girl in Saitama, Japan, died when she was sucked down the intake pipe of a current pool at a water park. The grill that was meant to cover the inlet came off, yet lifeguards at the pool at the time deemed it safe enough to allow swimmers to stay in the water as they had issued a verbal warning of the situation. She was sucked head first more than 10 metres down the pipe by the powerful pump and it took rescuers more than 6 hours to remove her by digging through concrete to access the pipe.

2. 2009: Shanno Khan, an 11-year-old schoolgirl in India, died after being forced by her teacher to stand for hours outside in the searing New Delhi heat as punishment for not doing her homework.

3. 2009: Sergey Tuganov, a 28-year-old Russian, bet two women that he could continuously have sex with them both for twelve hours. Several minutes after winning the $4,300 bet, he suffered a heart attack and died. It is believed that the heart attack was the result of Tuganov ingesting an entire bottle of Viagra just after he accepted the bet.

4. 2004: Phillip Quinn, a 24-year-old of Kent, Washington was killed during an attempt to heat up a lava lamp bulb on his kitchen stove while closely observing it from only a few feet away. The heat built up pressure in the bulb until it exploded, spraying shards of glass with enough force to pierce his chest, with one shard piercing his heart, killing him.^[132] The circumstances of his death were later repeated and confirmed in a 2006 episode of the popular science television series Mythbusters.

5. 2005: Lee Seung Seop, a 28-year-old South Korean, collapsed of fatigue and died after playing the videogame StarCraft online for almost 50 consecutive hours in an Internet cafe.

Sleepless Sunday Thoughts

This is my stream of consciousness, just random thoughts that flow through my head and then are written down.

Bruno was a hilarious film and if anyone thinks it is offensive to gay people needs to look at the bigger picture. It was just using a gay stereotype to expose other's ignorance and stupidity. The film is funny and amusing to people who are intelligent, and people who actually understand the stereotypes, but for those stupid homophobic people, the film is just boring. So, if you are an intelligent and politically involved human being, Bruno is worth paying the ticket price to go see. Laugh at everything because Sasha Baron Cohen is hilarious, it was just as good as Borat!

On Deman Cable is my new addiction. For only 20$ extra a month my family gets to enjoy some great movies that we probably would have rented from blockbuster anyways, so really we are saving ourselves money and a trip to the store. So I've been keeping up with a couple series, Nurse Jackie and True Blood. I would not have the opportunity to watch these if it wasn't for On Deman Cable... well that is my legal option. I know of some people who use a certain website to download seasons of television shows. I'm much too lazy and hate waiting so pirate bay is not my choice.

I went to a wedding and it was actually my first I've ever been too. A second cousin and I had a great time. I never really wanted to get married before, but now I do. It was a great time, just think of it as an adult prom/formal with a great afterparty all mixed into one. I love the open bar aspect and the great food. Live bands are good too. I'm actually looking forward to it, some day, far away though. Well... not too far, we'll see how things go.

The summer is almost over, I'm super optimistic about returning to school. Second year is going to be twice as good as first. I'm turning 19 which is legal drinking age in Canada, and I have my own vehicle. Not that I would ever drink and drive, I'm just saying that I can get around without having to rely on the bus, although I probably will because freaking parking passes at my school at like 600$. Ridiculous I know. So anyways I'm hoping to get some of the scholarships I have applied for so I can have some fun money to spend of school supplies, like a new laptop to take notes. My gateway piece of shit won't last me the year. I filled my desktops hardrive and I think I'll need to get to the store and buy a terabite external hardrive.

Recently I've been interested in making my own music. Composing, writing lyrics and preforming, just for kicks. I took 7 years of piano lessons and 4 years of music in High School and one class in University, so I think I have enough background that I can do it. Let's hope so. Maybe you blog readers will be the first to hear my symphony lol. Nawt, I'll be doing some electro pop punk style music haha.

Those are my thoughts for this Sunday evening. Time for bed!

Warped Tour 2009 Toronto

This past week I went to my first ever Warped Tour, in Toronto, well it is really in a city called Mississauga in Ontario of course. I saw a lot of bands that I love, and I discovered some great new ones too. I took a lot of pictures and I'm only going to be sharing a very small amount compared to the massive amount of photo's I took. It kind of inspired me to start making my own music, seeing all these bands. I am now obsessed with a small girl from Timmins, her name is LIGHTS and if you ever get the chance, definitely check out her show. Spectacular. Her album comes out in September, and I can't wait!

Why did the poor boys cross the road?

I was driving through a major city in the United States when all of a sudden my father put the breaks on and my mother gasped louder than usual. On the 6 lane expressway, two boys, ages 5-7 were climbing over the concrete median and about to run across the expressway to the other side where there was a big park and baseball diamonds. There is a pedestrian bridge but these kids did not walk to the bridge, where were there parents? They could have easily been hit by a driver who was not paying attention to the road. As I ate my chicken & gnocchi I thought about why they made the decision to go to that specific park. Perhaps they did not have a park available close to their housing project. This is the problem in cities, and I would think a city planner would address it, don't you? The sad truth is that a lot of less fortunate neighborhoods only have the McDonald's play place as a playground. Give back to your community, get involved and voice the concerns of the people, this is a democracy and you should take every opportunity to make your life safer, funner, easier, and more beautiful. Governments squander money too often and if you keep them on their toes, there will be less and less money for them to take.

Observing Humans

So I work at a public beach and I make observations of people. I'll share them in a weekly entry on this blog, because I'm sure some of you are interested.

This tale comes with some words that could offend many readers, so please continue reading to find out what it is. =]

A young female walks on to the beach, and I see her with my naked eye. She only has with her a small towel which is slung over her left arm, and her small bikini on her body. Later on the beach while checking how full the garbage cans were, I saw a security guard who was patrolling the beach. He approached the young female I saw walk in and said 'Where did you get that from?' he asked eagerly as he pointed to the molson cold shot in her hand. (A molson cold shot is a slim can that contains 6% alcohol of beer). She says nothing but lifts her leg and pulls out another can from within her vaginal cavity. I could not believe it, and the security guard was flabbergasted and asked her to either throw the beers out, or leave the beach. This was an exciting day.

Fawcett, Jackson, Mays - Celebrity Deaths

Its hard to believe that so many celebrities are all dieing at the same time. I also feel a bit odd because it isn't like I know them all that well or I am a fan of theirs or something, but I do have a lot of sadness that looms over me. Billy Mays, can you believe it? I can't, I'm a big fan of his infomercials (ya, if you didn't know, I love infomercials and watch them for recreational purposes). I'd like to share some of my favorite internet memorabilia and thoughts about these three with you guys.

Billy Mays - Age 50

Jaboooody Dubz, probably one of the best dubbing videos of Billy Mays' infomercials. It's hilarious and I just peed myself.

But if you get down to it there are two types of infomercials worth watching, ones with the people from Magic Bullet, and anything with Billy Mays. The Shamwow dude can eat shit.

Michael Jackson - 50
This is the face of the King of Pop that I know. I was born in 1990, and I don't remember when he married Lisa Marie Presley, I can't do the Thriller dance, or moon walk. I don't know the words to Billy Jean, and I don't see what's so great about Beat It. I know Mr. Jackson because he was friends with Macaulay Culkin and then when I was 13-14ish he was accused with molesting young boys. I know all about Neverland Ranch, and about his secret cameras and hiding places, his monkey bubbles and that is about it. Different generations saw a different MJ... and that's my perspective of him, what is yours? (comment below).

To be honest, the title of this post is kind of a pun. I created this blog, (and I'm being completely honest here), with the intention to make some extra money. Now that information is out there in cyberspace, I hope I still have retained someone's attention. I don't only want to earn money, I also want to practice my writing and also vent/rant and perhaps meet others who rant/vent about the same issues. I'm not only a blog writer, but I read a bunch of blogs too, and chances are I'll link to them sometimes so you can see where I'm coming from.

The reason this post is a pun is because my original goal was to be a writer for About.com, but since I'm not a published author and did not already own a blog, it was highly unlikely that they would ever hire me as a freelance writer. SO! Here is my plan. As I go through my learning journey at University (for an HBA in Communications), I will practice my blogging skills and hopefully, over my second year, obtain a paid-to-post job online. One that can help me pay for rent and food. Oh and of course, I'll also need to pay for my internet connection.

Don't think I'm going to be lacking in content and drive because I'm in it for the money, these blogs will be powerful, moving pieces of shit, I mean, literature. Keep in touch if you are a reader. My e-mail is j00nior1990@gmail.com
